Largs Gaelic Choir is having a good year so far in 2018. At present, we are singing as a ladies choir and although we started the year with dwindling membership we have been successful in attracting several new members. This is great news and we are actively looking to recruit more.
We are currently building up a repertoire of music, both Gaelic snd Scottish, that will allow us to carry out engagements within the community.
Due to our depleted numbers at the beginning of the year we decided not to enter the Royal National Mod in Dunoon this year. However we did enter the Stirling Provincial Mod in June and were awarded joint first place in the ladies choral singing section with excellent marks for both singing and Gaelic performances. We were delighted with this success and it has been very encouraging to us. We hope to enter the Royal National Mod in 2019.
The choir restarts after the summer break on 21 August when we will be continuing to build up our repertoire for the rest of the year and the concert season.
